Academy Stables will train most breeds of horses (Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse, Arabian, Mustang, Appendix, etc.). You may either trailer your horse to Academy Stables for each session or the horse can be boarded at Academy Stables at normal boarding rates plus associated training fees (assuming we are accepting new boarders at the time). Horses boarded while being trained will be worked with every day until desired training is met to the owner’s satisfaction.
Our goals in working with any horse and are as follows: 1) Create a relationship, 2) Earn his/her trust, 3) Teach them to follow the trainer’s requests 4) create the bridge to a bond between you and your horse both in and out of the saddle and 5) Teach you, the owner and rider, the basic fundamentals for your future work with your horse.
Our training method is one used by hundreds, if not thousands, of trainers around the world. An approach using the basis of “press and release” to attain dominance and trust while creating comfort and security with a “hands-on” approach. Through a four-step process, we at Academy Stables, believe that any horse can learn to partner with his/her owner to create a relationship borne on trust, relaxation and security. We see our job as facilitating that relationship.
